Annual report 2012 www.recope.com
A 32,000 m3 light crude oil tank in the refinery:
Adaptations for the storage of diesel were necessary; the
current refinery is not operating due to evaluation´s regarding
construction projects for a new refinery. A total of ¢137.40
million (US $0.27 million) from the ¢280.31 million (US $0.56
million) budget were executed for these purposes (49.02%).
Increasing storage capacity at distribution campuses by
320 mbbl:
The work consists on the construction of 8 tank, two of
these will have the capacity to store 25 Mbbls of Jet Fuel at
Barranca Terminal, aphase in which the contractor presented
prerequisites began in 2012, the engineering phase and
projected completion date was moved to May 2015. Four other
storage tanks of 50 Mbbls each (two for regular gasoline and
two for diesel) will be developed at La Garita Terminal as agreed
via a contract with ISIVEN (company) referred for referendum
by the Contraloría General de la República (CGR); and finally,
two tanks with a storage capacity for 35 Mbbls of regular
gasoline are being developed at El Alto Campus. The contract
was designed and is pending to be sent to CGR for referendum.
For such purposes, the amended budget up to December 31,
2012 was ¢96.89 million ($ 0.19 million), ¢37.55 million (US
$0.07) of which was executed.
Retrofitting two Jet A1 tanks of 4,000 m3 each and the
construction of two gasoline (super) tanks of 5 .600 m3
each at La Garita:
This project involves the use of two Plus 91 gasoline tanks with
a capacity of storing 3,975 m3 (25,000 barrels) to store Jet A1
fuel. Furthermore, tanks that stored Jet A1 are to be replaced
by super gasoline tanks, eliminating the necessity of using a
1,590 m3 (10,000 barrels) tank and a 3.975 m3 (25,000 barrels)
tank by building two tanks of 5.565m3 (35,000 barrels each).
This increases the storage capacity of super gasoline in La
Garita Terminal by 20 thousand barrels and meets the increased
demand. La Garita receives pipeline transfers and pumps via
pipeline to Barranca.
The readjustment of Jet tanks was completed by the end
of the year. However, it is still necessary to test the fire and
tanker load systems for the T-509 and 510 fuel tanks. These
will be performed in January of 2013. A contract extension is
underway in order to replace the floating diaphragm and carry
out internal painting of one of the tanks. The amended budget
for this project (December 31, 2012) was ¢3.645.620 (US $7.22
million), and ¢3380.27 millions (US $6.69 millions) (92.72%) has
been executed.
