Annual report 2012 www.recope.com
Moin´s Quality Control Laboratory worked on restructuring the
Caribbean´s Quality Control department during 2012, prior to
the merger between Quality Control and Production Control
Laboratories. This merger did not stand in the way of: 60
452 tests that were carried out, the restoration of the octane
machine, providing the laboratory building with its own identity
(signs) and improving security measures inside and out (signs,
security guidelines, mandatory use of safety equipment, etc.).
A complete remodeling of the laboratory at La Garita began.
The objective was to adapt it for the new octane machine, and
culmination of works is expected in May of 2013. New analysis
equipment is to be installed on this date.
El Alto´s laboratory obtained the administration´s approval to
construct a new laboratory that would meet the new safety and
analysis requirements. The number of tests performed by the
El Alto´s laboratory was 7796, La Garita´s laboratory executed
13629 and Barranca´s laboratory executed 16688 tests.
INTER-LABORATORY ROUNDS: EL ALTO LABORATORY
In 2012 we participated in one inter-laboratory ASTM round for
gasoline. The following tests were evaluated: Density at 15 ° C,
vapor pressure at 37.8 ° C, initial point, 10.0% volume fraction,
50.0% volume fraction, 90.0% volume fraction and end point.
The results were satisfactory except for the 90.0% volume
fraction test (immediate corrective actions were taken).
We participated in 1 ASSHTO round per semester for Asphaltic
Cements. The following tests were carried out during the
first semester of the year: Specific Gravity of Asphalt Cement,
Original Asphalt Viscosity at 60 ° C, Original Asphaltic Cement
Penetration at 25 ° C, 100g, 5S and Asphalt Kinematic Viscosity
at 135 ° C. All results were satisfactory. The tests carried out in
the second half were: Viscosity at 60 ° C, penetration at 25 ° C,
100g, 5S and Viscosity at 135 ° C, the results obtained in all these
tests were satisfactory.
We participated in inter-laboratory round for bunker. We
assessed: Flash Point and Pour Point temperatures.
In all cases the measurements were satisfactory.
