The business outreach program covers different activities,
depending on the population of interest with which it interacts:
Participation in booths that are accessed by a large number of
people. These stands transmit different messages of business
interest such as awareness in saving fuel. This is in compliance
with Law #7447; fuel quality and cleaner air, among other topics.
The educational program called “Savings Guardians” is aimed at
motivating school children and young students in the country
to exercise as potential influencers on adults motivating them
to develop fuel-saving habits and efficient driving behaviors.
Education and environmental care is pursued via lectures
on; the origin of oil, its applications, fuels, RECOPE and its
contribution to national development and our environmental
commitment as citizens. Priority regarding these activities
is organized in relation to the concordance of requests with
RECOPE´s significant work and corporate social responsibility.
Community visits program. The Communication Department
BUSINESS OUTREACH PROGRAM
and Distribution Management collaborate together to comply
with Board of Director´s agreement, # 03895-226 consolidated
on the ordinary meeting (held on November 11 2004) Article
# 4: “To commission Distribution and Sales Management so as
to initiate a permanent Reeducation Project in municipalities
and communities where the pipeline is present; regarding
security matters to be taken into account when works are
developed close to it. This initiative transmits information
regarding prevention and obtains feedback from the people in
these places, thus aiding decision making processes regarding
the development of specific projects or works.
Educational center grants program provides: desks, files, swivel
chairs, cabinet-type furniture, tables and whiteboards as part of
the program that RECOPE executes under the law. Beneficiaries
this year include: San Diego high school in Tres Ríos, El Barro de
San Juan de Mata de Turrubares, José Fidel Tristán Pedagogic
Unit in Barrio La Pitahaya, El Cajon School in Grecia. School
boards interested in these grants must carry out an application
