INTERNAL CORPORATE CONTROL SYSTEM
RECOPE perfected and monitored the Internal Corporate
Control System during this period, along with the Specific Risk
Assessment System (SEVRI), that is always under a continuous
improvement process, all in response to the provisions of Law
No. 8292 of the “Internal Control Act” and the Strategic Business
Plan. This organization involves all subordinate holders and
is support by the Internal Control and Risk Assessment Unit
(UCIVR) that is attached to General Management.
A score of 100 was obtained in all criteria evaluated by the
Contraloría General de la República (CGR) on the Institutional
Management Index (IGI), as a result of the works developed in
2012. This confirms the strengthening provided by the Internal
Corporate Control System. This index evaluates the establish-
ment and implementation of formal factors derived from judi-
cial and technical norms and good practices that contribute
towards the institutions potential performance.
The following activities carried out during 2012 stand out:
General Management promoted spaces for the presentation of
results and progress reports at Advisory Council meetings, so as
to achieve a more timely management of risks.
Operative management assigned technical staff to monitor
actions and functions related to improving internal control as
promoted by the General Management.
The UCIVR focused on generating awareness and training
subordinate holders to ensure that risk assessment and self-
assessment evaluations were based on genuine beliefs and
confidence in the benefits generated by improved processes.
The implementation of a Business Ethics Program advanced
in the following ways: an Ethics Management Group was cre-
ated; headquarters and collaborators participated in the vir-
tual course titled “Road to Excellence”; and the Department of
Communications and Public Relations promoted values.
The
