has achieved certification as a
“Dengue Transmitter Mosquito
Hatchery Free Zone”as it complied
with the provisions of the national
guidelines for the control of
dengue.
RECOPE
has
joined
also
the
educational
campaign;
“EcoRomería, a promise for all”
organized by MINAET and EARTH
with sponsorship from group of
public and private companies.
The aim is to raise awareness
regarding the need to preserve
clean pathways, and to classify
waste. This initiative began
because of the waste generated in
previous years due to the transit of
pilgrims to Cartago.
Within
the
company,
with
the help of collaborators, we
attained
the
“Smoke
Free
Space”
certification
granted
the Instituto de Alcoholismo
y Farmacodependencia (IAFA).
This
program
involved
the
participation of workers from
different campuses that are
aiming to quit smoking.
All theseeffortsarecomplemented
by actions to control emissions.
The Climate Change and Energy
Efficiency Business Plan for 2010-
2014 promotes; energy efficiency,
the development of carbon offset
projects and facilitating the use
of environmentally friendly fuels,
the ultimate goal is to reduce /
mitigate 50,000 tons of carbon
dioxide (CO2) per year.
