The “Petroweb” project stands
out. This project was born from
RECOPE´s
customer
service
and
marketing
management
requirements;
developing
a
transactional
web
site
was
established as a top priority. This
development allows RECOPE to
enter e-commerce and promote
its alignment with governmental
guidelines focused on reducing
the use of paper, promoting new
digital services for customers, and
entering the Digital Government.
The site is currently at an early
stage of development and will
permit: pre-billing of fuel sales,
payments (using SINPE services)
and programming of office work
as transactions may be recorded
in real-time on the site.
The main advantage will be the
system’s capacity to fund bank
accounts. This was previously
carried out via connection and
gave way to several problems
such as duplication of deposits.
This can now be avoided thanks
to the Central Bank of Costa Rica´s
SINPE mechanism which operates
with a digital signature, increasing
the security and support for
the client and RECOPE. It also
provides access to balances and,
regardless of geographic location,
a client can place funding and
plan purchases with greater
security as they can manage the
system themselves and define
their own administrators with
independence from RECOPE.
An internal digital mail system
(Cordigital) was developed as a
complement to these policies. It
systematically manages 66,66%
of all the documents generated
in RECOPE, thus reducing the use
of paper by 23%. This service was
strengthened further thanks to
the use of Digital Signature.
Another initiative implemented
this year is the use of scanned files.
A solution provided by Content
Management (a product called
Alfresco) aided automation and
allows users to search digitalized
information with ease.
