The asphalt and asphalt emulsions
grant program is an ongoing
effort that has been developing
for several years. Mayors and
workers responsible for technical
road units are given all the
information necessary for grant
requirements, such as; monitoring
and control prior to, during and
after the development of paving
and patching projects.
Creating roads alongside
municipalities
In 2012 RECOPE donated 2.13164
million liters of asphalt and
emulsified asphalt which had a
cost value of 610 311 531 colones
at the time that benefited 18
municipalities in the country:
Aserrí and Desamparados (San
Jose province), San Mateo, Upala,
Naranjo, Poas, Alajuela, San
Ramon and Orotina (Alajuela
province),
Alvarado
(Cartago
province), San Rafael de Heredia,
Aguirre, Osa and Montes de
Oro
(Puntarenas
province),
Cañas, Tilarán and Abangares
(Guanacaste province).
To obtain a grant the municipality
must
present
a
technical
description of projects such as
constructions, surface treatments
or street/road re-carpeting and
