In 2014, work was performed to strengthen quality control of asphalt
emulsions by implementing methodologies that facilitate the certification of
the production of emulsions. Work continued with staff training and equipment
procurement for the “Sulfur Analyzer by RX”, which began in 2013 with the staff in La
Garita Laboratory performing the analysis of sulfur in diesel. In 2014 it was extended
to laboratories in El Alto and Barranca.
Also, in response to the demand for quality control at airports for analysis
Av Gas and Millipore, these controls were implemented in the terminals at Airports
Juan Santamaria and Daniel Oduber. InMoín, to strengthen its system, a work planwas
established to conduct a study of failures for critical system equipment.
Metrology, as part of the expansion of the service portfolio offered by
the metrological laboratories, began with the inspection service of the loading rack
thermometers, to ensure that the measurement with which the volume conversions
are carried out under reference conditions for inventory is within the maximum
permissible errors.
External accreditation
Management received an external assessment programmed by the Costa
Rican Accreditation Entity (ECA), during October and July 2014, for their Management
System, Metrology and Quality Control, respectively, with the following results:
After findings revealing non-conformities, the accreditationwas satisfactorily obtained
for the three departments.
In the metrology area, for some magnitudes, there was an improvement in calibration
capabilities reported in the accreditation scope.
