Vocal 1 of RECOPE´S Board of Directors, sworn in on May 27, 2014. President of the Board of
Directors of Soresco, appointed in June 2014. Holds a Licentiate Degree in in Civil Engineering from UCR and
a Master´s Degree in Business Administration from Universidad Interamericana de Costa Rica. He has acted
as Project Engineer for Vilaci, S.A. (a construction company). He made his exercised his professional career in
RECOPE as Engineer and Chief of the Design Department and the Project Execution Department, in the Project
Department and the Planning Department. He has also acted as Chief of the Infrastructure and Projects Division
in Banco Popular.
JoséGerardoRivaBazo
Vocal 2 of RECOPE´S Board of Directors, sworn in on June 25, 2014. He holds a Licentiate Degree in
Law from the University of Costa Rica. He works as a legal advisor in the offices of the Ministry of Culture, Youth
and Sports and has a long working history within the General Comptroller of the Republic (CGR) offices, acting as
an attorney for the Bids Department and the General Public Procurement Directorate. He is also the supervisor
for Legal Matters in the General Public Procurement Directorate, deputy general director and general director in
Public Procurement, advisor and consultant of various private companies (domestic and abroad) and an external
legal consultant for the Offices in Costa Rica for the United Nations Development Program (PNUD).
