Diagnosis of work environment
Even though the general results obtained by the “RECOPE
Study of Employee Satisfaction” are not very low, there
were some weak areas that required corrective actions
from the administration.
This research was conducted by Leticia Rodriguez Vasquez
and Vilma Bolivar Vargas (psychologists). The test used
to identify the company´s working environment was the
Work Environment Questionnaire (CLA), TEA Editions. It
was applied to 20% of RECOPE´s population as estimated
on March, 2012, 1836 workers.
Prize for the best ideas in occupational health
A total of 34 employees participated in the “Best
Occupational Safety and Health Ideas, 2012” contest,
the winners were: Gonzalo Alpizar Rivera (1st place) of
Chemical Quality Assurance and Esther Golden Facey (2nd
place), an industrial security specialist.
Winning topics:

Work safety. Safety is everyone’s responsibility.
This project proposes obligatory training for all company
personnel in security practices, as a requisite to labor
in RECOPE. Furthermore, colleagues are to call out in
attention when others are not using protective equipment
or are executing unsafe practices.
This initiative recommends theoretical and practical
courses to be taught in the following topics: the use of fire
extinguishers, fire drills and first aid. The aim is to educate
each person and bring them to the responsibility level of a
safety inspector that is required to call out in attention when a
colleague does not comply with the rules or safety procedures.
