Eight strategic objectives define
the Strategic Plan for the 2010 –
2014 periods, as approved in 2010.
1.
To develop and maintain
infrastructure
to
ensure
a
competitive supply of fuel at: ports,
refinery (new and current) and
distribution systems.
2.
To ensure the supply of
petroleumandpetroleumproducts
by diversifying the sources,
developing alliances, using future
elements, and implementing a risk
management system.
3.
To establish a corporate
culture focused on efficiency and
streamlined processes to reduce
costs and expenses ($/bbl) so
that prices in Costa Rica become
the most competitive in the area
whilst ensuring quality and a
continuous supply of products.
4.
To develop projects and
operations in an environmentally
friendly and sustainable way so
as to ensure the rational use of
energy and the establishment of
measures that mitigate RECOPE´s
carbon footprint.
5.
To consolidate careers
by promoting a culture of
compliance with, goals, objetives
performance
evaluation
and
professional
development
through training and the creation
of a virtual university.
6.
To develop a customer
service oriented culture so as
to meet needs in a timely and
efficiently manner.
7.
To promote research and
development
to
incorporate
biofuels into the national energy
matrix.
8.
To develop operational,
administrative and construction
activities in line with safety
standards in the oil industry. To
maintain a comprehensive worker
protection culture on all the levels
required, motivating individual
and social development, along
with awareness of RECOPE´s
responsibility to Costa Rican
society.
The first objective proposes the
development of ports and refinery
via improvement of infrastructure.
This is closely linked to the second
objective; to ensure the supply by
diversifying sources of supply.
The third objective relates to the
constant search for a simplification
of procedures for the benefit of
customers and users of services,
whilst searching for the most
competitive price.
