Total bunker sales for the year 2013 increased
by 23.45% (61,856 cubic meters) with regards to 2012. This
increase was due to the increase in bunker sales to ICE (74,921
cubic meters), when compared to the previous year. Starting
in the month of July 2013, RECOPE started selling low sulfur
bunker to ICE (Garabito). Low sulfur bunker sales for the year
2013 totaled 93,766 cubic meters.
Participation of bunker C and low sulfur bunker
according to economic sector, for the year 2013, is divided
as follows: ICE (thermal generation) with 64.27%, industries
with 28.90%, peddlers with 5.36% and other sectors represent
1.47%. Bunker C and low sulfur bunker have a high-energy
content and are used in boilers, furnaces and electric
generation plants.
LPG
Total LPG sales for the year 2013 increased by 5.69%
(12,718 cubic meters) in comparison with the total LPG sales
for the year 2012. For the year 2013, the participation of LPGby
economic sectors is represented as follows: LPG distributors
with 89.95%, industrial sector with 8.23% and service stations with
1.82%. Average LPG sales were 18,878 cubic meters for the I semester
and 20,491 cubic meters for the II semester, showing an increase for
the II semester of 8.54% (1,613 cubic meters), when compared with the
same term during 2012. LPG is used by hotels, restaurants, cafes, houses
and transportation, to a lesser degree.
AC-30 ASPHALT
Total AC-30 asphalt sales for the year 2013 decreased 1.07%
(647 cubic meters) in comparison with the sales for the year 2012.
The distribution of the product in the national market was 89.95% for
construction companies, 80.06% for MOPT, 2.28% for peddlers and 0.01%
for other clients. The trends for this product uses are governed by the
budgets disbursed by CONAVI, used for transferring road maintenance
and fixing bridges to construction companies.
