RECOPE), is classified as the largest Central American
Corporation, with 50 years of experience. Its operations are
focused on importing, refining, processing and distributing fuels
needed in Costa Rica. This government owned company supplies
approximately 70% of the commercial energy required for the
economic and social development of the country, whose vision is
to always be the mainstay of the competitiveness in Costa Rica.
Upon starting my duties are appointed president for
RECOPE during the term 2014-2018, I found the results presented
in this document, containing significant development projects
aimed at strengthening the National Fuel System, comprised of
the oil tankers mooring installations, the oil pipeline, which one
of a kind in Central America, four distribution terminals in Moín in
Limón, El Alto de Ochomogo in Cartago, La Garita in Alajuela, and
Barranca in Puntarenas.
It is important to emphasize the investments in
international airports Juan Santamaría in Alajuela and Daniel
Oduber in Liberia, with similar projects in the horizon to develop
other terminals, such as a terminal in airport Tobías Bolaños in
Pavas, San José and in the airport located in Limón.
