Infrastructure and Equipment
Remodeling and expansion of the following facilities initiated:
National Metrology Laboratory in El Alto Terminal, activities which are expected to end
by June 2015.
Quality Control Laboratory in La Garita Terminal.
Facilities for the Metrology Laboratory in the Moín and La Garita Terminal, which
were expanded for adequate and timely provision of services, as well the custody
of equipment and reference standards. These facilities were equipped with the
necessary furniture for properly executing tasks.
Equipment and systems
The Metrology and Quality Control Laboratories were furnished with
equipment and instruments necessary to expand services, optimize response times
and update methods. Also, there is a plan to replace obsolete equipment every year.
Metrology – 2014
A budget totaling ¢41 million was executed in metrology equipment and
the following projects:
Maintenance of volume standards in field.
Registrationof trailerswithweight andmeasures, allowingadecrease in transportation
costs of standards between Terminals.
Quality Control – 2014
A total of ¢440 million was invested in laboratory equipment. The
following are the most important purchases:
Octane equipment for La Garita Terminal.
Automated equipment for the octane machine in El Alto. This machine had an
investment cost of approximately ¢150million, replacing a 1972model machinewith
a fully automated and computer controlled machine. Work was performed by SICA,
a Mexican company, represented by “Waukesha para Latinoamérica”. The benefits
include a more precise measurement of octane and an increase in the useful life of
the equipment for another 15 to 20 years. The project was developed in throughout
a year and a half.
