This is achieved with the Corporate Projection Plan executed by the
Information Department, whose main goal is to raise awareness regarding the need
to join efforts with the population to promote an environmentally healthy and safe
country. Additional to the foregoing, several corporate actions oriented towards
decreasing greenhouse effect and to support education in children regarding rational
use of energy.
This plan resulted in the creation of an additional program called
Guardians of Savings, which in 2014 included 10 elementary and high schools, in
variouspartsof thecountry, providing informationandsharingwith1,540 individuals.
This program is aimed at children and teens, who are considered the potential drivers
and who can influence adults to create fuel saving behaviors and efficient driving
skills.
With conferences and pedagogic and dynamic activities, Guardians of
Savings program teaches children and teens about the importance of protecting the
environment, flora and fauna. It also teaches about the origins of fuels, their efficient
use, rational use of energy, general information about RECOPE and its contribution
to national development and the environmental commitment with society. As part of
the dynamic activities performed, different species of flowers and trees are planted
within the institution and surrounding areas and Petrolín, the company mascot,
participates in these activities.
Additional to these activities, the company participates in stands with
themes related to its scope of action and RECOPE´S social corporate responsibility.
In the year 2014, the company participated in 16 information stands visited by a
large number of people, transmitting various messages of corporate interest, such
as raising awareness about fuel savings (in compliance with Law # 7447) and their
quality for clean air, as well as corporate projects, the composition of fuel prices and
other matters.
