In 2014, the company donated ¢468.7million tomunicipalities regarding
these products. Of the 1,820 m3 donated, 58.5% consisted of asphalt emulsion and
41.5%of asphalt. This behavior is different from that presented in the previous years,
as more than 60%was usually mainly donated asphalt.
It can be observed in the graph above that from the year 2011 to 2013,
donations decreased at an average annual rate of 48%, but increased for the term
2013-2014 by 149%.
During the 2011-2014 term, RECOPE has benefited 46% of a total of
81 municipalities in the country . During said term, a total of 6,554 m3 of asphalt
and asphalt emulsion has been donated to 37 municipalities, representing ¢1,845.8
million. Only in the year 2014, four new municipalities benefited with donations:
Belén, De la Cruz, Guatuso and Zarcero.
Of the 37 municipalities, only the municipality of Cañas received
donations four times during the 2011-2014 term. During these years, seven
municipalities have participated three times, five twice and 24 just once. During this
term, eight municipalities represented 50% of the total of product donated in cubic
meters, which totaled ¢862.8 million.
