ASPHALT AC-30
Total Asphalt AC-30 sales in 2015 increased by
29.5% (19,066 m
3
) in relation to 2014. Total Asphalt
AC-30 sales in 2015 were distributed as follows:
(i) the construction sector accounted for 90.9%
(76,041 m
3
) of sales; (ii) the MOPT (Department of
Transport and Public Works) accounted for 6.9%
(5,739 m
3
) of sales; and (iii) peddlers accounted for
the remaining 2.2% (1,841 m
3
) of sales.
The seasonal variations exhibited by this product
are directly related to the budget available to
CONAVI, who transfers said budget to multiple
constructions firms as compensation for giving
maintenance to the country’s road network. 2.7%
(83,621 m
3
) of total Asphalt AC-30 sales in 2015
were classified as domestic sales; ranking sixth in
RECOPE’s list of highest selling products of 2015.
BUNKER C & LOW-SULFUR BUNKER
Total Bunker sales (Bunker C + Low-sulfur Bunker)
in 2015 decreased by 59.89% (184,142 m
3
) in
comparison to the previous year.
Total domestic Bunker sales (Bunker C + Low-sulfur
Bunker) in 2015 were distributed as follows: (i)
industrial sector represented 62.2% (76,702 m
3
); (ii)
peddlers represented 21% (25,889 m
3
); (iii) Instituto
Costarricense de Electricidad (Garabito Project)
represented 12.5% (15,478 m
3
); (iv) hospitals
represented 3% (3,714 m
3
), and (v) other clients
represented 1.3% (1,551 m
3
), approximately. 4.08%
(123,334 m
3
) of total Bunker sales (Bunker C + Low-
sulfur Bunker) in 2015 were classified as domestic
sales; ranking fifth in RECOPE’s list of highest
selling products of 2015.
