leads directly to the Juan Santamaria Airport and to
multiple stations owned by the Costa Rican Institute
of Electricity.
INVENTORY
RECOPE, being the sole company engaged in
the import and distribution of petroleum products
in Costa Rica, must ensure that the supply of its
highest selling products will meet domestic demand.
Days in inventory per product is a measure of the
average number of days the company holds its
inventory before selling, as a contingency against
external events out of the control of the company
that represent a high risk of causing a shortage
of inventory, or that could limit or restrict the
importation, distribution and/or unloading of product.
MULTI-PURPOSE PIPELINE
RECOPE’s primary pipeline network is made up
of six pipelines through which the vast majority of
product is transported (gasoline, diesel, Jet Fuel
and Av-Gas). The rest of the product is transported
TANKER TRUCKS
In 2015, the two primary fuels being deliver via tanker
trucks were Jet Fuel and Av-Gas. Approximately
39.28 thousand m

of Jet Fuel were transported from
La Garita to Liberia (Daniel Oduber International
Airport), and 1.69 m

from La Garita to Tobias
Bolaños Airport in Pavas. Approximately 992.13 m
3
of Av-Gas were transported from La Garita to Pavas.
In regards to the transport of black product in 2015,
9,769.38 m
3
of asphalt and 29,118.50 m
3
of bunker
where transported from Limón to “El Alto” plant and
storage site.
