2016 ANNUAL REPORT
of airlines companies and incoming/
outgoing flights (especially from
Europe). This, coupled to the cluster-
based development initiatives brought
about by tourism, drove Jet A-1 sales
upward.
It is important to note that the Daniel
Oduber International Airport has
established itself as one of the primary
ports of entry for charter flights, reaching
new levels which are comparable to the
charter flight arrivals in Juan Santamaria
International Airport. Therefore, this
has resulted in RECOPE maintaining
24-hours-a-day distribution services
in Liberia. This increase in sales is
brought about by government efforts
to further develop the services that
directly contribute to the considerable
dynamism exhibited by this sector,
which is fundamental to the economy.
Four of RECOPE’s terminals accounted
for 92.65% of the company’s total sales
in 2016. While Barranca showed the
greatest percentage increase (10%) of
all the terminals, airports accounted
for 7.35% of total sales by product,
among which Limón Airport showed the
greatest percentage increase (135%),
followed by Daniel Oduber International
Airport (50%) in Liberia.
