RECOPE ANNUAL REPORT 2015
the agreement passed by the Board of Directors in
ordinary meeting #03895-226 (held on November
11th, 2004), article 4, wherein the Department
of Sales and Distribution was commissioned to
develop and maintain a permanent coordination
program with the communities and municipalities
through which the multi-purpose pipeline must
pass.
Similarly, at the request of public and private
businesses and entities, multiple lectures on
efficient driving and vehicle maintenance were
given with the intention of contributing to CO
2
reduction efforts. These lectures are a great
complement to the advertising campaigns. In this
year, the campaign “Efficient driving is an act of
conscience” was launched. In the campaign drivers
are encouraged to protect the environment, make
proper use of fuel, and give maintenance to their
vehicles.
AWARENESS PROGRAM
As part of the Energy Saving Guardians program,
multiple visits were made to education centers
across the country to give lectures to children and
teenagers on how to make efficient use of fuels
and the importance of protecting and caring for the
environment.
In addition to these visits, RECOPE participated
in fairs and other public gatherings by setting
up information booths and distributing material,
pursuant to Act No. 7447, containing information
related to fuel saving, fuel quality, progress reports
on projects that could have a great impact on the
country (such as the expansion and renovation of
the Caribbean terminal and the Liquefied Petroleum
Gas Storage System [SAGAS as per its acronym
in Spanish]), and storage operations related to the
composition of fuel prices.
In complement of these efforts, the Community
Outreach Program, executed in compliance with
