CERTIFICATION, FOLLOW-UP TESTS AND
MEASUREMENTS
The Office of Quality Assurance, as part of
its responsibilities to achieve the continuous
improvement and expansion of the Quality
Assurance System, requested an extension
of the scope of accreditation of its tests and
measurements under the INTE-ISO/IEC 17025:2005
standard, which certifies general compliance of the
Central American technical regulations required to
offer customers environmentally friendly products of
the highest quality.
Following the completion of the above cited tests,
the Costa Rican Accreditation Entity found 100% of
the standard testing results to be in compliance, 49
in total.
In regards to metrology, 100% of the audited test
results obtained by the internal laboratories were
found to be in compliance, and therefore remain
accredited. The technical evaluation was conducted
with the support of an expert – from the National
Metrology Center in Mexico – in the field of mass
and volume magnitudes. The evaluation required
the use of two different weight-based calibration
methods: the simple comparison method and the
double substitution method.
The external audit conducted by the Costa Rican
Accreditation Body (ECA as per its Spanish
acronym) in regard to the metrology and quality
control Quality Assurance System (SGC as per its
Spanish acronym), consisted of multiple quality
assurance and measurement accuracy critical tests.
